Course Description

Cupping Skills is categorized into three levels of offered courses (Foundation, Intermediate, and Professional). This course will teach you the necessities of sensory evaluation in a practical and interactive way. It investigates the way we understand what we taste and the way to apply this understanding whilst comparing coffee traits, learn how to figure out specialty coffee characteristics, a commercial perspective of business growth.

 

CUPPING FOUNDATION LEVEL

Learn the essential elements required for cupping evaluation. Through practical and interactive methods, you will gain expertise in taste and learn how to apply it to the evaluation of different coffees through the following areas:

What you will learn.

  • Learn and Understand Cupping Analysis
  • Introduction to identify single origins’ qualities and how to implement them in your business.
  • Understand the importance of coffee tasting and the cupping process. The organs of sense involved in the coffee tasting: eyes, nose, mouth.
  • Learn about the physiology of coffee tasting; olfaction and gustation
  • Identify the different tastes and aromas that exist in coffee
  • Understand how to use and maintain the core equipment for a coffee tasting and cupping analysis.

Prerequisites: No experience required.

Once finishing your foundation level and training your skills, you can attempt the intermediate level and get closer to your professional level.

Your Cupping Education Continues

Once you have completed the Cupping Foundation Skills. Now that you have completed the Barista Foundation level, you can proceed with your Cupping Intermediate Level training too completed within 2 days, and later the final level of your coffee Cupping training is the 3-day, Cupping Seniors Course.
